Now that the Appraisal & Inspection period has ended, it’s safe to put the closing date on your calendar. Usually, the seller does attend closing; however, you can pre-sign all of the paperwork a day before or the same day as the closing, if necessary. Should you need to pre-sign before closing call Melanie or the title company at least 7-10 days prior to set up a time to pre-sign the closing documents. If one of the signers cannot be present to sign, a power of attorney (POA) must be drawn up and approved by the lender. Please provide at least 14 days to put a power of attorney in place. A real estate power of attorney is different from an estate or medical POA.
